12 Weeks + 1 Day

Well today I'm 12 Weeks and 1 Day pregnant. I went to the OB for other things so they went ahead and did my 12 week check up that was scheduled for next Wednesday while I was there. They used a doplar device on my stomach to hear the heartbeat. Tiny's heart is beating at 150. The OB says that is perfect. It was really neat to hear and still gives me goosebumps that there is actually something alive down there. They also finalized my due date to August 12th. Works for me. Knowing my luck I'll have it 10 days late anyway, but oh well!

The nausea is getting better and I'm having more good days than bad. Next week is the Nuchal Translucency at St. Agnes. I'm nervous about it but in the end it will be fine I'm sure.

So we have gotten two gifts for Tiny so far from some very special friends the Weinberg's and the Smith's.

Prior to the holidays Stacey from PRES brought me a holiday gift less than a week after I told her we were expecting. The Weinberg's purchased for us an M&M dispenser with personalized blue and pink M&M's that say ???? Trudden, Family's Growing, and August 2010. It was such a thoughtful gift. Right now it is in our kitchen but I'm sure it will get use for years to come, long after we eat all of our special M&M's.



Just last week I received a package in the mail from my friend Kourtney in Seattle. Her family sent us some Classic Pooh items that Chris and I just adore. The Smith's sent us a blanket, a fleece onsie, and a stuffed animal Pooh.



Thank you so much for thinking of us Weinberg's and Smith's! We are very lucky to have friends like you.

Wahoo!

So the last few days have been great! I've been feeling more and more like myself. Still taking anti-nausea medicine but it's been agreeing more and more with me. I'm also sleeping again which greatly helps my mood during the day.

Yesterday was 11 weeks for Tiny Trudden. Upcoming we have our 12 week check up on February 3rd, a Nuchal Translucency screen/scan on February 4th and then we're scheduled to find out the sex of the baby on April 1st. I hope they don't play any April Fools jokes on us! =)

During the scheduling of all of these appointments there seemed to be some disagreement over my due date. So I hit to the calendar. I went out 40 calendar weeks from my last regular "Flow" and I came up with the date of August 12th. That's the date I'm sticking with at this point! In the end I don't care when I have the baby as long as it is healthy and happy and it's before I have to report to work on August 21st. =)

Hoping for a better week ahead and diminished sickness in the coming weeks!

So When One Thing is Under Control - Another Rears It's Ugly Head!

So as I wrote in my last post three days ago, things were beginning to look up. You would think that things wouldn't change that quick, but they did. Wednesday I started to feel a sore throat coming on. Later that evening the vomiting returned. I went to the Doctor on Thursday who thinks that I have strep and has prescribed some antibiotics to give me relief. Even with the medication, the vomiting has continued.

My worry is that all this is not good for Tiny. But everyone keeps assuring me that if I'm sick it's a good thing. Right now it's really starting to get in the way of my teaching, coaching, and grad work. Most of you know me well enough to know how much I hate doing nothing or appearing to do nothing. So this is just KILLING me right now.

Here's hoping for a better rest of the weekend and a normal week next week. Only two more weeks and I'm out of the 1st trimester so maybe that will help things out a bit.

Morning Sickness Under Control.....for Now!

Everything is pretty much the same old, same old with the pregnancy. My next appointment is February 3rd and at that point I will be done with my 1st Trimester. The morning sickness has been better since I've gone back to work. I think it is a combination of simply being busy throughout the day that keeps my mind off of it and the fact that the medication has kicked in.

I have found that eating small portions throughout the day works too, which is so hard for me and I feel like I'm eating so much more. However, I know I'm not.

Chris and I have started to make our guesses about whether Tiny is a boy or a girl. At this time I'm feeling that it is a boy and Chris feels it is a girl. I guess we will have to wait until Mid-March to find out for sure.

First Photos

Yesterday Chris and I went for our 8 week check up. We had our first ultrasound and we got to see Tiny and Tiny's heartbeat. It was very neat to see it up on the screen. Makes it all a bit more real that there is actually something growing in there. Based on the measurements, they are saying I'm 8 weeks and 1 day. Based on that Week 40 is August 17th. The sonogram technician gave us a date of the 13th and the doctor gave us a date of the 19th. It's all good either way! =) We should be able to find out the sex of the baby late in March too so we are very much looking forward to that one. This week my nausea has been much better. Let's hope it continues!

The Clark's Reaction

August 15th Sounds Like a Good Day!

So the month that we take a break is the month that we get pregnant. Who knew! We should have done that months ago. Oh well. We found out on December 9th when I took a test and it was positive. I have had my six week check up and everything was going very well up until Christmas Eve. For those of you who are friends of mine on Facebook you have probably seen my posts about being ill and not eating. I've been so nautious that I can't do anything but sit and sleep. I have tried all kinds of food, sea bands, aromatherapy, and finally got some medicine from the doctor. The meds have given me some relief but I still heave when I try to get up and do too much. No idea how school is going to be for me next week. Should be interesting. I think I'll plan something light and easy. =)

They say that the more nautious you are the better your pregnancy. Jury is still out on that one but for now the only thing I have found that works is McD's french fries. My poor baby. Maybe they will grow up to hate McD's if I eat their french fries every day. Yeah I'll just think about that.

We told Chris' family the weekend that we moved. (Pictures of that are on our Pictures Site.) And we told my family on Xmas Day. I have a video of my parents confusion turned excitement and my Dad who now knows he is old. I'll have to add it sometime next week. We will also be going for our Eight Week check up on the 6th so we hope to post some of the first baby pics then. So far they say we are due August 15th so for now we are looking forward to that.

The big joke right now is that everyone keeps talking about twins. I think I might pass out if that is so. I'm hopeful that it is only one, but I joke that if it is two then I'm done regardless of the sex. =)
