Week 15 - Tiny's Growing

So week 15 started with me feeling great, immediately followed by a horrible day that was just terrible. Since Saturday things have been going well. I'm feeling more energy during the day and find that when I'm standing up and moving around at school, I actually fell less sickly.

Yesterday was my normal monthly appointment at the OB. I got the hear the heartbeat which was in the normal range and my blood pressure was good. I'm still down 1 pound from 4 weeks ago, but last week on my scale at home I was down 4 more than that so maybe I've gained some weight this week. I've definately been eating more. I'm on a fruit kick lately and have been enjoying grapes, strawberries, or watermelon with breakfast and dinner daily.

After the appointment I went downstairs for some blood work for the Spina Bifida test. I had Nurse Hatchett and it was not very enjoyable. Hopefully the results for that will come back negative and we can move forward to finding out if Tiny is a girl or a boy. My next OB appointment is at the end of March and the Anatomy Sono is still scheduled for April 1st.

I'm going to take my first belly picture tomorrow morning when I'm officially 16 weeks and then my plan is to take them every 4 weeks from that point onward. It's becoming more exciting for me now that I'm not sick every day. I'm starting to see glimpse's of that payoff in the end that everyone talks about.

Official Beginning of the 2nd Trimester

So Friday was the start of my 15th week and by all the different calculation models I'm officially in the 2nd trimester. So my nausea is going to miraculous disappear, right? Haha! No way. I've figured out that I go about 2 weeks feeling so-so with some good days mixed in and then I have a bad day and a half.

I have been feeling better even though I've lost over 20 pounds. Usually when I lose weight I lose it in my stomach first, not this time. My belly is starting to show a little bit more than expected as a result. Since I'm a little heavy anyway, people that don't know, don't see it. But those that know me, are like "Look at the Bump." I will have to take a photo at the end of this week as I start week 16.

This week is going to be a normal week for me. First one since before all the snow that came just after school on February 5th. I have my monthly appointment on Wednesday with my OB and I'm looking forward to hearing the heartbeat again.

Week 14 - The Highlights

Well still no school! Hopefully we will go back tomorrow. Even when we do it's going to be a huge mess. Portable Roof collapsed among other problems.

Since getting out of the hospital, I've been on the upswing. Took until about Friday morning to start to feel normal, but I have had some good days since then.

Sunday we even went to see a movie. On Monday, we went out to lunch for Chris' birthday and then went to register at Babies R Us. I still have to go back and tweak the registry so for now I'm not going to give the link. I feel like some things we registered for we don't need, and others, after looking more at inventory online and comparing with Target, another place we will register at I need to make some changes.

More links and details coming.

I found the nursery room furniture I liked at JCPennies, so I'm excited about that. Chris is going to start priming the baby's room so that we can paint it over Spring Break! It's going to be a baby green and then I want to do some stripes using flat/glossy paint. We shall see if the stripes actually happen though. With my OCD, it may end up being more trouble than it is worth. =)

The Good, the Bad, and the UGLY!

The Good
I'm going to start with the Good! For those of you that dislike negative things feel free to read this section and not the rest.
Last Thursday Chris and I went for a Nuchal Translucency test on Tiny at St. Agnes. This involved the Dr. taking another ultrasound and then measuring the amount of fluid in the baby's neck. The amount of fluid contained there at this stage can tell if the baby is likely to have Down's or other Trisomy disorders. Everything measured out well and while it's not 100% our chances are definately lower after the results.

The most exciting part of the appointment was seeing Tiny again. It is starting to look more like a real person. Tiny even waved at us and jumped around a bit! Still gives me goosebumps thinking about it. They also did a close up of the face and we got to see the baby's profile. I've included two photos below from the sono!

Our next appointments are just normal monthly appointments with the OB until April 1st when we find out the sex of the baby. =)

The Bad
So the bad. Monday was a horrible day for me. I was violently throwing up everything I ate and drank. The vomiting was different than what I have normally had over the past 6 weeks or so. None of my food was processing at all. I know GROSS! I called the OB around 7 PM and he was inclined to think that I was suffering from something more than just Nausea and he urged me to go to the ER to be sure it wasn't anything bad, especially with another snow storm on the way.

Chris was at work so my friend Laura's husband with a 4 wheel drive truck drove me to the ER and Chris met me there. I got there just before 9 PM and I finally got a room at 5:30 AM. Yes you heard right. It was unbelievable how many people were there and how long it took. I finally got to see a DR at 8:30 AM. They decided it was just some dehydration and nothing more. The sono of the baby while I was there was all good so that satisfied my fear that something was wrong with the baby. So they pumped me with fluids and sent me home around 11 AM.

I slept most of the day on Tuesday and Wednesday. This evening I started to finally feel like myself.

The UGLY!
Now what could possibly be worse than that. If you have been following the news or you live here you know. We have had over 50 inches snow in less than 5 days. Yes that is right folks. Click the link below to see pictures from both of our snow storms. We also got about 20 inches of snow back in September. So I think we have had over 70 inches so far this Winter. And it's FEBRUARY!!! I'll be taking more photos from the second tomorrow as it is almost 10 PM here right now and still snowing as it has been since 1 PM on Tuesday. The best way I can describe is that all you can see everywhere is snow. We have no visible yard, our patio table on our back deck disappeared completely under the snow early this morning and the snow in our front yard does no allow us to see our cars parked right in front because it's so high.

Trudden Family Pics - Winter Weather

I have never seen so much snow here in all my life and apparently Mother Nature is dumping more on us on Monday. At this point we have used all our snow days that are built into the calendar so it's going to be interesting how they plan on making any more days up. Will they take away PD days in the calendar in the spring, extend the school day, or just forgive the days because the entire state and national capital are shut down as they have been since mid-day Friday. Now I am one to complain when we don't really get snow, but let me tell you, I don't think I will ever complain about wanting more snow ever again!
