Week 24 - Sleeping & Growing Pains

Well Tiny is definitely growing in there. It's also quite the kicker. Chris got to really feel Tiny last night when we were watching TV. Apparently it liked the Cheesy Chicken we had for dinner. =) The area around my belly button this week has been really sore and tender. So much so that if I brush my belly up against anything I'm uncomfortable. My belly is getting larger too. It's becoming more difficult to get comfortable at night and rolling over is just AWFUL. I am taking up more and more of the bed with my big belly and my body pillow. Someone at Chris' work told him to be prepared to sleep in our guest room this summer. Hopefully it won't come to that.

Today is the beginning of Week 25! Only 15 more weeks to go! It's getting closer all the time. Today Chris and I are going to see a day care center. The price is right and the hours are good and the best part is she does mostly teachers so we don't have to pay for the summer or vacations. Hopefully it will work out. I have a few other places that I'm going to be contacting and going to see in the next few weeks if that doesn't work out. Hoping to get something nailed down before the end of May. Finding day care for an infant is proving to be quite the task.

Other than that nothing really new around here. Until next week!

Let the Unpacking Begin & Newest Belly Photo

Here is my newest belly photo taken today. I'm 24 1/2 weeks pregnant now. YOWSAS!!

Since we moved back in December, I have been very lazy about unpacking several items around the house. Mostly this has been because I just didn't have the energy, I was having morning (allday) sickness, and it is so overwhelming that I just didn't want to do it, Oh! and throw in finishing my masters as well.

Well the sun has set on that. I have more energy, no more nausea, no more grad school, and I'm excited to get to work on unpacking. So let it begin!

Baby's Room/Master Bedroom
Clothes, Clothes, and More clothes. Shoes too! When we moved I only unpacked what I needed and left the rest in the boxes. I didn't really have a firm idea of how I was going to organize my closet so I struggled with actually wanting to put things away. I've got some plans now.

Bathroom/First Aid

I have two boxes of bathroom/first aid CRAP that needs to be organized and put away. I bought some rubbermaid organizing bins and that stuff will be put away

Craft Room
This is perhaps the most DAUNTING TASK TO DO, but it is by far the most exciting. I can't wait to have a fully functioning craft area. I have a feeling when I start this one, I will end up making more a mess before it all gets put away but I simply have so much stuff that I need to organize it so it all has it's perfect home and place. =) Access is going to be key as well.

I'm going to add pictures of my efforts onto our photo album as I work. Hoping that the first two items get done before the end of the weekend so that next week I can focus on the craft area.

Week 23 - MIA?

I've had to take a bit of a hiatus from blogging over the past 13 days! But now I'm back, so here is what has been doing on.

Spring Break
I enjoyed a wonderful Spring Break from school with some beautiful weather down here. I got my first taste of the heat and being pregnant but it wasn't too, too bad. Hopefully I'll survive most of the warm summer. Luckily our basement is cool, and I joked with Chris that we would have to put the recliner down there if it was too hot for me upstairs. =)

I also had the State Championships for my gymnasts. They all did really well. Everyone of them came home with a medal. One was 2nd on Vault and we were tickled pink with all of their improvements. It was so nice to see them have a good meet on their last one of the season. Now the focus is back on starting fresh. Lots of work with new kids, but that's just the way it goes.

Virus Attack

Last week I caught a bit of a virus and was sick once again. I didn't eat for 2 and a half days and lost 5 pounds. The doctors checked all my levels and the baby and everything is fine. We weren't sure if it was a virus or just the baby acting up but Chris caught the bug this weekend so I guess that answers that question.

Masters

I finally finished my last class for my masters and turned in my portfolio. Just have a presentation tonight on my Internship (which isn't graded) and I'm DONE! Graduation is May 15th and you better believe I have my cap and gown and I'm ready to WALK!!! So excited to be done. The pay raise will be nice as well. Should afford me a little extra cash each month for "Tiny" things. =)

Since I am done with all of this stuff, I have lots of extra energy and tonight I have to finish up some things in the baby's room so that Chris can start to paint. I hope to have the room painted by the end of next week and furniture put together and set up. Buying a mattress later this week so we are all set furniture wise. =)

I'll be sure to load a new belly picture at the end of the week when I'm officially 24 weeks, as well as pictures of the baby room as it comes together. =)

More to come!

Baby Clothes are DANGEROUS!

My mom and I went to the outlets yesterday before I had to work at the gym. We ventured into Carter's. Knowing the sex of your baby makes this store so incredibly dangerous. I think in all we spent about $60 on clothes for the baby. We got lots of really great things. Lots of stuff on sale for as much at 60% off or $2-3. I hung up everything in the closet today and organized it all by size.

Today, Chris had the day off and we headed to Westminster to do some shopping. We were able to finalize our registry at Target. Links to both of our registries can be found on the right sidebar under the poll.

It's been quite warm here the last three days. It's been giving me a taste of what this summer will be like for me pregnant. Let's just say I'm not looking forward to it. But hopefully the baby at the end will make the suffering totally worth it.

Tomorrow is the start of Week 22. The nausea has been much better. In the last 6 weeks I've only had two mornings that have been rough. Funny enough they were both rainy Monday mornings. Hoping that things continue in a positive direction.

I have the State Meet this weekend for my gymnasts. I know I was very happy that it got moved up so that I wouldn't be hugely pregnant for it, but a month earlier than usual is killing me. Practices have been rough trying to squeeze everything out of them I can before this weekend. Hopeful that it will go well. This year has been a growing year with only one returner. Next year should be much better but we shall see though! Wish us luck!

Thank you Lauren and Kelly!!

I've been so behind in my thank you's!

Here are some recent gifts that we have gotten for Tiny.

First a friend of mine that I work with at Guilford Elementary, Lauren was kind enough to buy a duck bath hooded towel. It is so cute and I know that we will get good use of it with Tiny when we have "Tubby Time."

Also, when I saw my cousin yesterday she got us the cutest robe as well. I can't wait for Tiny to use that too for transfer from bath to bed. Should keep Tiny nice, warm, and dry!

Thank you so much Lauren and Kelly!! You are the best! Tiny thanks you!

Good Deals! - Let the stockpiling begin!

So I'm currently on the lookout for good deals for baby essentials. If you see or hear of any, please let me know!

This past week I was able to get 3 packs of 66 size 1 diapers for $20 at Babies R Us. I also got a $10 off Coupon. So I took my diapers to the car, went back in with my $10 off coupon and bought a two pack of bottles that I had a coupon for if I bought a two pack I got one extra bottle free. So for $20 bucks I walked away with 198 diapers and 3 Avent 4 oz bottles.

Chris also bought a box of Size 2 Luvs that were on sale at Target this week as well. While we are trying to get some diapers we are realistic that we shouldn't buy too many because until we have the baby we don't really know what will work best. We are trying to buy diapers that have been recommended to us by others, but find that everyone has their own personal preferences. =)

Week 20 - Girl or Boy?

Well this week has been pretty good for me. I have learned that Tiny does not like Monday mornings when I had the second Monday morning in a row of nausea and morning sickness. Nothing else during the week so that is a good thing.

We had our Anatomy Scan on Thursday. Everything looked perfect and Tiny is a healthy 13 ounces. YAY! Also they were able to lower our risk for Downs and Trisomy 18. So we are now 1 in 6000 for Downs and 1 in 10000 for Trisomy 18. We will have to go back in 6 weeks so they can do another scan and look for markers for Cystic Fibrosis. At this time it looks good, but I'm a carrier and we are having trouble getting Chris' primary care to get him tested. They say that they should be able to lower our risk for that too in 6 weeks if everything still looks good.

Tiny's quite the kicker and I learned that everytime I get pain in my stomach that feels like upset stomach it's Tiny kicking and punching away. Tiny kept grabbing its face and then stretching its arms during the ultrasound so that was really fun to see. Such an active baby.

Tiny was also being uncooperative for several of the things they were looking for including the sex of the baby. We were able to find out. But it's a secret. My mom and dad don't even know yet. =) Shower is set for June so that is when everyone else will find out.

This week included a day off on Friday from both school and gym which was wonderful. I spent the morning with my cousin and godson, then gardened with Kim (well she did most of the work as a housewarming gift) and Piper, and then helped get the guest room in order. Check out the Pictures of Both on our Picture Site.

That's all for this week! Have a great Easter/Passover! Enjoy Spring Break to all of you that have it!
