27 weeks!

It's hard to believe that Taylor is 27 weeks old.  This was about the time in my pregnancy when the morning sickness went away and funny enough this is about the time in her life when the snow day today wasn't all that bad after having a 4 day weekend.  We are actually surviving quite well.  We have played hard and napped well, both of us!!  =)

This week I have some photos of Taylor with our cat Tristan.  She is in love with him!  We have been working hard on petting gently and she lights up whenever she sees him!

I spy a Tristan Kitten!

Come here Kitty!

Still working on learning how to pet without grabbing clumps of fur!

It's a Bright Sunshiney Day!

The weather today here in Maryland hit 72.  It was so nice out.  Taylor and I were going to try to get together with Natalie and Ellie but our schedules didn't work today so we will do that another day soon!  =)

Instead we did a last minute lunch date with Laura and Ali.  We walked to Panera, had lunch, and walked home.  It was so nice to get out and enjoy the sunshine!  Taylor enjoyed the walk in the stroller and took a good long nap when we got home.

Here is a photo of Ali and Taylor in their strollers before we journeyed out!  Ali is trying to hold Taylor's hand!  It was so cute!!  =)  Thanks for visiting Laura and Ali.

Yes, I'm one of "THOSE" parents!

So Taylor will hate seeing this when she is older but for now it makes me giggle so of course I have to share.  My dad aka Poppy and I have a game that we play each weekend that I visit.  When I'm there, I change the desktop background on his computer to a recent picture of Taylor and then before I return he changes it to a picture of me when I was a baby.  This has been going on for a little while now.  Well this past weekend when I arrived this is the image that greeted me.

Yes that's me in all my glory at about 5 months old.  I was a cutie too!  So of course I couldn't resist doing the same to my own child.  So Taylor donned her birthday suit and set up for this shot!  =)

Great shot to show the boyfriend someday in the future huh?

Happy 6 Months Taylor!

Well this coming Tuesday will be Taylor's 1/2 birthday.  Coincidentally it's also her Daddy's Birthday.  He is thrilled that they get to share this special day together.  =)

Happy 6 Months!

Mom!  Give me that camera!

New this month:

Rolling:  Taylor was slow to roll to her tummy from her back.  She doesn't like being on her belly all that much so she just wasn't interested and it took lots of taunting with toys to get her to do it.  Now just a week later she is Ms. Roley Poley.  I have been trying to get it on tape and she was just not interested in performing on demand.  But I persevered and got it finally today.  Caught her 1/2 way to her belly but it's all good.

Napping:  She is getting better at napping, thanks to Ms. Karyn at day care who has been diligently working on nap training.  She is getting better about taking 2-3 1/2 hour to hour naps a day.  She is still sleeping through the nights so the naps are an improvement.  She is also napping in her crib or pack n play instead of in peoples arms.  A definite plus!

Exploring:  Taylor is excited about everything around her in her world.  She has been getting better about reaching and grabbing things.  We had to buy her a toy cell phone so that she would have her own to play with instead of Mommy's.  The big positive about her reaching is that she will reach across her body for things which is really good at this stage.  =)  She has also 100% interested in the cats.  Tristan is a great sport and has learned that to get attention he needs to butter up to the baby!  She loves to pet him and we are working on petting and not grabbing.  It's hard but he has been a great and if she gets grabby he merely gets up and walks away.  She lights up when she pets him so I'll have to get pictures of that sometime soon!
Who should I call?

I'm liking Tummy Time More!
Flexibility:  Taylor has been working on her flexibility and loves to grab her feet.  This month she has perfected the art of putting her big toe in her mouth.
Gives new meaning to "Tastes like Feet."

Talking:  Taylor enjoys talking up a storm.  Nothing that resembles English, but like her Mommy she enjoys a good chat even when no one is listening.
