Seems like forever ago, but I need to get caught up. Back at the beginning of August Chris, Taylor and I took our first "real" vacation together. We rented a villa in Hilton Head through Home Away and set off on our way. My parents shared in the costs and joined us as well. It was a 12 hour drive down so we decided to leave at 3/4 in the morning to make the ride a little easier on the munchkin. She was such a trooper though.
After being in the car for 12 hours. Happy to be getting out of this seat!!
Taylor was so happy to get into our villa. We kept her in the stroller for a little bit while we surveyed and baby proofed what we could. That didn't stop her from exploring cabinets that we couldn't lock. =)
Daddy, What's this?
Yes I think I will have a drink. =)
During the trip we went Mini Golfing. Taylor is checking out the score card. Yep Mom Won!
We also went on a Dolphin Tour one day. I don't think Taylor quite knew what was going on. We saw a lot of dolphins. In fact way more than Chris and I saw in the Gulf during our Honeymoon in Tampa which I thought was interesting. Highlight of the boat ride was when Taylor chucked her bottle and it went overboard. :\ We also came upon a Dolphin in distress that had been attacked by something BIG. Made me nervous about going in the Ocean. Jaws anyone?
Family on the Atlantic!
Lots of Dolphins
Since I threw my bottle overboard, I'm HUNGRY!!
Dinner at the Salty Dog!
We went to the beach several times when we were there. It was very hot but at the beach it was better. We had some technical difficulties with the umbrella which made Mommy a nervous wreck. Taylor did not like the sand at first but by the end of the trip she enjoyed it more. There was a really bad storm one night and after that the jellyfish were really bad so we played in the tidal pools after that. The people who were stung looked like they had been caught in barb wire. The burns from the Jellyfish were really BAD looking.
Yes I enjoyed my sand toys without the sand.
Part of the reason we chose to go to Hilton Head, SC was so that Chris could go to Robert Irvine's Restaurant as a belated anniversary gift. Instead of a dinner Chris and I went to a cooking demonstration. WOW! It was so good. The food we had was spectacular. =) Since getting home we have already made one of the items for a party. YUM!

Our last day of vacation on the beach.

Memories
Ooh Sand. It's not all that bad.
The trip was great! We had a great time there and definitely would like to go back sometime. We had many fond memories of our trip and Taylor took her first steps to her Daddy while we were there so it will always be a special trip.
Keep checking back over the next few days! I'm going to try to update once a day for a few days to get caught up.
